How did you get started with bodybuilding?
I have always lifted weights just for fun and as some kind of a daily physical activity. Roely Winklaar also known as “The Beast” is a very good friend of mine. I used to train with him (we still do by the way) and he kept telling me to think about it and pursue it as a serious sport. He already went pro as a bodybuilder at that time.
It is because of him I started with bodybuilding as an amateur first and since 2012 I got my pro card.
What keeps you motivated?
In life you have to set goals otherwise life would be meaningless. My goal is always to win in whatever I set my mind on. To win you have to focus and work hard to achieve your goals. It’s like they say nowadays “No pain No gain”. So you have to do the work and stay motivated.
What is your current workout routine?
The basic exercises with emphasis on leg and back exercises. I also do a lot of cardio twice a day mostly early in the morning and in the afternoon.
If you had to choose only 3 exercises, what would they be and why?
The deadlift, leg press and leg extension. Those exercises are very effective for the bodyparts I need to work on the most.
Competition history:
Toronto Pro, that was my first competition as a pro and I will also do the Chicago Pro this year.
Past competitions I did: Arnold Classic Amateur, Mr. Olympia Amateur, CAC Amateur, NK Amateur and Mr. Curacao.
- 2014 IFBB Toronto Pro Supershow: 11th place
- 2012 IFBB Arnold Amateur: 8th place
What is your favourite form of cardio?
Mount climbing.
What is your diet like?
Lots of protein in the form of fish, steak and chicken. Also carbohydrates in the form of rice and sweet potatoes combined with vegetables as a finishing element.
What supplements do you use?
Optimum Nutrition
What are your future goals?
Now that I am a professional bodybuilder my major future goal is Olympia one day.
