How did you get started with bodybuilding?
About 8 years ago I saw a picture of a few competitors. Lindsay Messina being one of them. I literally just right then and there made the decision to enter into my first bikini competition. The main goal being to lose weight and become healthier. I never would have thought that years later I would still be going strong.
How do you stay so motivated? What drives you?
My coach Ron Primerano. My friends and teammates that I have met along the way. Plus competition… being better than I was before. That is a constant driving force.
What is your training routine like?
Right now I typically train 3-4 days on then a rest day. Light lifting and plyos! Very minimal cardio. For my last prep I did 10 minutes treadmill pre workout, and 10 minutes stairmill post workout.
If you had to choose only 3 exercises, what would they be and why?
Squats, shoulder raises, lat pulldown. Those are my favorite three. I love training shoulders as I have always wanted to grow them. Squats (what bikini girl doesn’t want strong legs and glutes) and then lat pulldown just simply because I enjoy the exercise.
What is your favourite form of cardio?
Stairmill… it’s a love/hate relationship.
What is your diet like?
I have been eating more than ever before since hiring Ron. I eat 5-6 meals a day. Usually consisting of a lean protein. Chicken, fish, turkey or steak. Carbs I typically eat oatmeal, Ezekiel bread, potatoes, rice. Veggies and fruit (apple and berries).
What supplements do you use?
Glutamine and BCAAs. I enjoy the BPI brand currently.
What are the highlights of your fitness career?
- Turning pro in 2013 with WBFF.
- 2016 landing the cover of BFW Magazine.
- And most recent 2017 winning the NPC Battle at the Border overall bikini title.
