How did you get started with bodybuilding?
I got started with bodybuilding about 8 years ago when I met a lady at a party who was a bodybuilder and she told me that I should compete because I had the body for it. I was already into fitness & training at that point but I didn’t know much about competing and it just so happened that there was a local bodybuilding show on the next day.
So I went to watch it, fell in love, started training for my first competition later that year and the rest is history haha!

How do you stay so motivated? What drives you?
I am just like everyone else, I am not motivated 100% of the time I do have my down days too. But the way I stay motivated and driven is by reminding myself of my goals and wanting to achieve something in life. I don’t want to go through life having never achieved a goal that I set myself. I want to be able to look back on my life and say “I did that!”.
I also hope that by me sharing my journey with others and achieving my own goals that I can help to motivate and inspire others to do the same.

What is your training routine like?
I currently train 5 days a week with a combination of weight training, circuit training and a bit of HIIT cardio.

If you had to choose only 3 exercises, what would they be and why?
Man that is a tough one haha but if I could only pick 3 I would have to say squats, deadlifts and hip thrusts. Do you see the running theme here?! Legs and glutes is where it’s at! I believe that squats and deadlifts are two of the most important exercises you can do for overall strength and body composition and I just love hip thrusts for growing a strong set of glutes!
What is your favourite form of cardio?
Definitely HIIT (high intensity interval training) cardio because it is short but super intense and effective! My favourite exercises for cardio would be battle ropes, prowler and boxing.

What is your diet like?
I follow flexible dieting principles so I track my macros (protein, carbs, fats, fibre) each day but it gives me the option to eat a variety of different foods. I generally eat fairly high protein, moderate carbs and fats. I’m not competing at the moment so my diet is a bit more relaxed and includes more treats haha (I love chocolate & burgers!)
What supplements do you use?
I use carnitine for fat loss, BCAA’s for muscle recovery, glutamine for soreness and recovery, and a probiotic for gut health.

What are the highlights of your fitness career?
I would have to say back in 2012 when I won an Australian National Bikini title, then in 2015 I placed 2nd in my first figure novice competition and went on to place 6th in Australia at the Arnold Classic. Another big highlight for me was placing 2nd in the Arnold Model Search where I got to present trophies on stage at the Arnold Classic Australia Pro Show, and I stood on stage with Arnold Schwarzenegger and he touched my arm haha!
