How did you get started with bodybuilding?
Back in 2012 I started weight training and within that lifestyle met competitors who were heavily into bodybuilding. They convinced me to give it a crack and with anything in life if I tell someone I’m going to do it, I go 100% and never look back. So the motivation begun once I opened my big mouth. lol
How do you stay so motivated? What drives you?
Now that I have no goal ahead of me, I honestly believe through constant discipline and routine I embedded a very ‘normal’ lifestyle for myself where training is as normal to me as brushing my teeth is to others. If I can’t train I feel like something is missing.
So no that I have just had my first baby (Miah) with a C-section I am really noticing how different it feels to not have my day start and / or end with a workout.
What is your training routine like?
Before baby Miah, my routine was…. Up at 4am Mon-Sat, train with my clients (while my team & husband ran the class) at 5am, then run the 6am class, shower, have breakfast, then start in the office running mine and my husband’s company HIIT Australia Pty Ltd from 8am to 4:30pm, then train with my clients (while my team & husband ran the class) at 5pm, then run 6:30pm class and close the gym by 8pm. Every second Sunday we hold outdoor events which consists of some form of physical activity and then we take them out to breakfast.
An average week for my husband and I is around 80 hours… mind you working for yourself is very different and when it’s your passion it never feels like work.
If you had to choose only 3 exercises, what would they be and why?
Can I choose Muay Thai Kickboxing? lol
Strength training… Barbell Squats, Straight Leg Deadlifts & Dumbbell Shoulder Press.
What is your favourite form of cardio?
Muay Thai Kickboxing
What is your diet like?
I live 80/20. 80% all wholesome, unprocessed foods and 20% relaxed. The 20% can honestly be something mild like sauce on my meal or deep fried hot chips & Tim Tams. I don’t count macros anymore so I use visual understandings on portion sizing and I go off how my body, mindset, health and performance feels.
What supplements do you use?
I use WPI natural proteins, Natural Glutamine and before I was pregnant I would use a natural BCAA but no longer do.
What are the highlights of your fitness career?
Opening up my own company having my husband work alongside me and now having an entire team behind us. PLUS when we opened up our first branch.
