How did you get started with bodybuilding?

I always liked to be physical from a young age. So it was an easy decision to join the gym when I left school. It was only when the WBFF came to South Africa for the first time in 2013 that I felt the desire to get onstage after seeing how glamorous and fashionable the event was.

A few months later I entered and won my 1st competition.

What keeps you motivated?

2nd place sucks! I am highly competitive and my internal drive to win WBFF worlds is what keeps me motivated.

What is your current workout routine?

  • Monday: Quads & Calves
  • Tuesday: Hamstring & Calves
  • Wednesday: Chest & Triceps
  • Thursday: Back & Biceps
  • Fridays: Shoulders & Triceps
  • Saturday: Biceps & Triceps & Abs & Calves
  • Sunday: Rest

If you had to choose only 3 exercises, what would they be and why?

  1. Incline dumbbell press
  2. Barbell curls
  3. Standing calf raises

All these exercises focus on my lagging body parts which I will improve in my attempt to win WBFF worlds this year.

Competition history:

WBFF South Africa was my first ever time competing with WBFF and I received my Pro Card. I went on to place 3rd in my Pro Debut at Worlds in Las Vegas.

What is your favourite form of cardio?

I like to mix things up with the stepper, treadmill and cycle. I prefer slow long distance on an empty stomach.

What is your diet like?

Right now I am in a bulking phase so I would eat lots of pasta with beef mince. Steak with oven baked chips. Chicken with basmati rice and egg omelettes with cheese and bacon on rye bread.
