Healthy Breakfast Ideas: 7 Simple Meals For Busy Mornings

Breakfast is a must have meal in the morning. Most people skip eating their breakfast because of various reasons. Healthy breakfast at the start of a day will give you an extra boost. When it comes to making breakfast, your choices are endless.

Many of us prefer waffles or pancakes, eggs and bacon, and muffins. Don’t limit your morning meal. Have whatever you want to but at the same time, keep it wholesome. I find that a healthy meal in the morning can give you a liberating and energetic feeling.

Here are some healthy breakfast options to kick start your day –

1. Oatmeal Savory With Egg

Making this healthy meal is quite easy. It takes your energy to a whole new level by adding savory to oatmeal. Prepare the oatmeal with water or milk as usual, then add a pinch of pepper and salt instead of sugar and cinnamon. Then top it with a poached egg and for extra taste, sprinkle some cheese.

2. Tomato Toast With Ricotta Cheese And Macadamia Nut

Here is a classic healthy breakfast sandwich. You need to take 2 slices of whole grain bread, spread 1 tablespoon of macadamia nut with ricotta cheese. Then sprinkle some basil or shiso, salt and for taste add freshly cracked pepper. Add 1-2 slices of fresh tomatoes, and enjoy.

3. Avocado With Hash Brown Egg

What I would recommend here is making it a day before. Mix hash brown, eggs, pepper, salt, 1 cup of cheddar cheese and olive oil. Then take a cupcake pan grease it and divide the hash brown mixture. Make sure to use your fingers to tight pack them and bring it into a nest shape.

Bake under 425 degrees F until the edges turn brown, and cheese has melted, for 15 minutes. Crack an egg into each nest and season them with pepper and salt, top it with crumbled bacon and 1 tablespoon of cheddar cheese. Then, again bake it at 350 degrees F until the egg whites set, for 13 to 16 minutes. Allow it to cool for some time and serve with chilled avocado slices.

4. Breakfast Roll-Ups

This breakfast roll is easy to make and can be eaten on the go. Take a soft taco size tortilla which you can either made at home or bought from your local supermarket. Heat it up in a non-stick pan. Beat one egg in a bowl with a bit of milk or water and pour it into a heated nonstick pan or skillet.

After the eggs are cooked, remove them from the pan. Put two slices of cheddar cheese in the middle of the tortilla, then pour the egg on top of it which will melt the cheese. Toppings can be of your choice, and you could add more cheese, crumbled sausage, bacon, avocado or mushroom as you like it. Try not to add much or many toppings as it could get difficult to roll. Then roll it up and it’s ready to go.

5. Banana And Peanut Butter Smoothie

Smoothies are always perfect at any time of the day and an on-the-go snack. Blend peanut butter, fresh or frozen banana, honey, yogurt and a couple of ice cubes. If you like it as a morning meal, keep it in a tight container and throw it into your work or gym bag. For an afternoon boost, prepare it at night and freeze it. Remove it in the morning, leave it out to thaw and enjoy it over lunch. For health benefits, add a tablespoon of vanilla or chocolate protein powder.

6. Scrambled Eggs And Veggies

This is for all vegetarians. Beat 2 eggs and throw them into the microwave in a safe container. Add a handful of your favorite vegetables like spinach leaf and cherry tomatoes or anything of your choice. Then sprinkle some cheese, mix them all together and cook them for about 30 seconds until the eggs are cooked. You can make them in the morning or store the raw mixture in the fridge and ready to eat next day.

7. Cheese And Fruit

This easy to assemble morning meal is a well-balanced diet, for people who watch their calorie count. Wrap 1 or 2 ounces of cheddar and grab an apple with a ½ cup of protein and fiber rich walnuts and you are ready to do breakfast.

Breakfast shouldn’t be skipped because the body will have zero energy when you wake up after a good night’s sleep. There’s nothing better than breakfast if you want to get some nutrients into the system. A hearty breakfast will keep your body healthy and kickstart your day.
