“Stay Ripped For The Holidays” Heat Up Your Inner Fireplace! – Written By Anthony Catanzaro

Yes! The holidays are here so you know what it means… There’s cake, cookies, food and drinks everywhere you go and you can bet it isn’t Protein shakes and Grilled chicken (well for me it is) but even I cut loose this time of year and indulge in the festivities. But by the time near year comes around I’m still ripped! How could that be if I’m eating stuff shells, fried shrimps and drinking egg nog, anisette not to mention my wife is a great baker and makes the most delicious cookies from scratch?

The trick is not a trick at all I just keep my metabolism burning hot! Yes I like to call a person’s metabolism their fireplace, you see the hotter the fireplace the more you burn! Most people’s metabolisms slow down around the holidays because there not as active as they were let’s say on the 4th of July. Plus with poor eating habits and stress it’s no wonder the holidays wreak havoc on your gut!

In this article I’ll give you 3 important tips on how to Heat up Your Inner Fireplace and get your metabolism burning so you too can “Stay Ripped for the Holidays”

TIP #1: EAT SMALL FREQUENT MEALS:

This is the biggest mistake people make today. They think by not eating they can keep the lbs. off, in one way this is true you will keep your weight off but it’s in form of muscle, not fat, you will in fact gain more fat because your body will store it for future energy. Then you will have this loose flabby thing going on. Instead follow a healthy diet plan which consists of 5-6 small meals spread out evenly throughout the day. This is the healthiest way to eat and great way to stay firm and energized while you get your Christmas shopping done!

TIP #2: DO CARDIO EVERYDAY:

People ask me all the time, Tony how much cardio should I do? How long? What type of cardio? My answer is always the same do it every day since you need to burn calories every day. I recommend no more than 20 minutes of cardio seven days a week it could consist of walking one day, swimming another, biking, stairs, dancing, it doesn’t matter as long as it feels good and you’re getting your heart pumping and your body moving. This is a great way to keep your fireplace burning hot and steady!

TIP #3: TRAIN WITH FREE WEIGHTS:

The most important tip to maintain a firm tight body is to make sure your training with weights and I’m not talking about going to the gym and doing a few sets of that scissor machine for your inner thighs and then stroll over to some arm machines while you check you text messages in between no I’m talking about developing a weekly routine of free weight training 3 times a week where you train specific body parts for each work out. Have a lean firm muscular body is key to keeping the fat off and staying young looking forever. This is simply due to the fact that muscle helps speed up your metabolism which then in return helps burn fat!
